Donna has walked with Jesus for more than four decades through the highs and lows of life. And wherever God has led her, helping people through times of crisis, serving the saints, and prayer have been the primary passions of Donna’s heart.
In early 2000, Donna had the privilege of serving as a volunteer Assistant Chaplain with the San Diego Family Justice Center, during which time she also founded House of Compassion Ministries, Inc., a Christian, non-profit ministry supporting victims of domestic violence.
To better equip herself for ministry, Donna completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Ministries in 2007 from Horizon University of San Diego, subsequently receiving a Certificate of Christian Counseling. Later, she received Certificates of Completion with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, FEMA Emergency Management Institute and the American Red Cross.
In 2011, she joined the staff at Calvary Chapel Northcity in Sacramento, California as Church Administrator. In the years that followed, she led women’s Bible studies and prayer groups, while continuing to pursue her love of writing. Donna established Proclaimers (a support group for local Christian writers), wrote and directed a Christmas play, authored numerous blog posts for the church’s web and social media sites, and was the creator, editor and contributor for Calvary Chapel Northcity’s e-zine.
During that time, Donna became the Sacramento Evangelical Examiner, publishing Christian articles, local church events, and general evangelical content, some of which were highlighted on the e-zine’s Home Page.
In 2024, Donna retired and relocated to the magnificent Rocky Mountains of Evergreen, Colorado. In the months that followed, God birthed in her heart a new writing ministry entitled, “Praying Through the Word.” Unlike other books in this genre, rather than praying random verses out of context, her series teaches Christians how to pray through entire sections of Scripture – word-by-word; verse-by-verse – using the Inductive Bible Study Method as a foundation for prayer.
Donna has two sons and nine grandchildren who definitely keep her hopping. When not writing, she loves gazing at the herds of majestic elk meandering through the neighborhood, making smores with the family in the fire pit on warm summer nights, watching Marvel movies with the grandkids, and lakeside coffee with friends.

“O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.” Psalm 71:17-18
